One-sided Email

Wow... I received an extremely one-sided email today about the Presidential Candidates. The issues aren't as simple as this clearly Republican-Christian-ese email made them sound... The health care issue for instance - my little family of four has just about killed ourselves to pay our health insurance and co pays for YEARS and at one point were without any health insurance PRAYING our butts off that nothing would happen in that time. (All the while hard working and not wastefully spending.) I know good hard working Americans who have gone bankrupt due to medical bills. To say a nation wide program to provide health care to all Americans would even be close to "like a third world country" is ignorant and overly dramatic. We're America. We pride ourselves on being the best so lets put our money where our mouth is and have the best health care around.

Land of opportunity? Not for people who can't afford to go to college. Not for immigrants who we now boo and treat horribly (everyone reading this, unless you are Native American you are booing your own heritage. Was your grandfather a leech or is it just possible that people still dream of the chance to live here?)

And why do a lot of women/girls have abortions?.... Many because they feel they can't afford to feed and care for a child on minimum wage. Many because they are desperately looking for love and acceptance so they find it in a man's arms partially because the church has failed to show the unconditional come-as-you-are love of Christ to them. We're too caught up in meetings and buildings to even notice the dying all around us! I think we get so caught up in looking at these girls as numbers and stats that we forget to look in their eyes and see Christ. We are trying to fix a symptom while ignoring the root cause. And one of the major root causes is the fact that the "haves" and the "have nots" are getting further and further apart. Not everything you have is due to your hard work. I guarantee you have had some luck along the way, or started with more opportunities than others. It is wrong to view those less fortunate than you as any less hard working than you. How about the years when my husband and I were first in the ministry and working OUR TAILS OFF and were being paid $10,000? Were we slackers? We got WIC and fuel oil grants - are we the problem or could there be people out there who truly need assistance through a period of their life? I am not so concerned with whether or not my taxes go up as I am about a fellow American not being able to feed their children, dying young of a preventable disease, having a vet on the street due to uncovered mental illness, or the elderly having to choose between prescriptions and food. I'd pay more taxes ANY DAY to insure that those things would be done away with.

I honestly am a registered Republican but not sure I'm voting that way in this election... honesty I don't like either candidate. But I am sick of hearing that if I'm a real Christian I'll vote for John McCain. Does God love Barack less than John? No. Does the church always get things right? No. Is God still sovereign and on the throne if Obama wins. Absolutely.

Everyone, please think for yourselves. Think deeper than the stats. What will the chain reaction of these issues be in ten years? Have we all been making choices that are leading to the demise or marginalization of others because it benefits us? Perhaps.

My point is, this is not as cut and dry as this email makes it seem. Think and then vote. Vote for who YOU choose regardless of who your family or church thinks you should vote for.

Hey Chris,

I just got this e-mail. It's worth reading.

Aunt Jill

This is something that every American should read and confirm for themselves before going to their precinct to vote in 27 days! The content of this article really scares me and should scare you to.

To All My Friends, this is long, please take the time to read it.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have
changed my mind three times since then. I watch all the news
channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with.

About six months ago, I started thinking 'where did the
money come from for Obama'. I have four daughters who went to
College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We
(including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in
California . He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he
tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid
Hamid, both from Pakistan .

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a 'round the world' trip. Stopping to see his mother
in Indonesia , next Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi ,
Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to
Africa to visit his father's family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college.

When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York . It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at
Columbia ? It's not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago ? Why not New York ? He was already living in New York .

By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo
Syria , and a real estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been
convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named
'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for
Law School ? More student loans?

After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko offered
him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented 'Rezar' which Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago . In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.

The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before
Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi
many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie
Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran ! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor
to Obama was 'sacked' after the press found out he was having
regular contacts with 'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran . This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming
from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East ?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The
Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'.When questioned, 'he made a mistake'. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would
like to check it Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the
enemy from within'!!!

Aunt Jill,
This is exactly the same kind of nonsense email I was talking about. Someone is drawing bias conclusions based on thier own fears and opinion. Student loans and money from the middle east? Are THESE questions based on facts or are the conclusions another one-sided hateful email? Where's your matching John McCain's a terrorist email?

You’re right. That wasn’t the best e-mail b/c it was based on opinion, but here are the facts:

Obama votes 100% in favor of abortion rights, including partial birth abortion. He is NARAL’s poster boy.

1.37 million babies die each year, that’s 3,700 a day! Talk about terrorism.

It is a terrorist act when a baby, after having lived in the safe haven of his or her mother’s womb, comes forth into the world and is met with scissors being thrust into the back of its skull and its brains siphoned out, or its body vacuumed and scraped out piece-by-piece, all in the name of a woman’s right to choose.

While single teens are faced with difficult challenges, many receive the support of their extended families along with government assistant programs. Adoption, of course, is the best option for those who have little or no means and that message needs to be promoted.

But it’s not the minimum-wage earning teens getting most of the abortions.

Only twenty-eight percent are performed on women whose incomes are below $15,000. And only 21% are teens. The majority of women getting abortions (52%) have families with incomes of $30,000 or above and 48% of women having abortions are over 25 years old. Forty-seven percent of abortions are performed on women who have already had one, translation: birth control. Most abortions are for convenience sake and not a money issue. Only six percent are for the health of the mother and 1% for rape and incest.

No matter what government proposals Obama promises, I could not support someone who has such a chilling disregard for the sanctity of life.
